INTERVIEWS - OCTOBER 20

Q&A with Beck Wadworth

At Mi Piaci, we draw inspiration from the empowering women we have deep admiration for. It is a pleasure to partner with Beck Wadworth; creative and founder of An Organised Life. We sat down with Beck to discuss all things kindred, confidence, her business and more.

What does Kindred mean to you?
B: Kindred to me is all about a mutual love & understanding. It’s about connecting to one another in a way, shape or form that bonds you deeply. Understanding one another is what connects us as kin.

Who do you go to for daily inspiration?
B: With my style, I’m inspired by others I follow on Instagram, friends, designers, & ultimately going with my gut & staying true to myself & what makes me feel comfortable & confident. My style is very minimal & refined. Less is more to me.

What’s the most empowering part about being a woman for you?
B: I love that as a woman I have strength & passion but I’m also very nurturing & loving. It’s such a beautiful & empowering thing to have both as a woman.

What does confidence mean to you?
B: Being comfortable in your own skin & being true to who you are as a person.

What does achievement mean to you?
B: I’m a big goal setter, personally, professionally & financially. Always have been, always will be. It gives me focus & purpose to move ahead & reach my dreams. However, in saying that some of these goals are tiny & some are big. I think the most important thing with goal setting & achievement is that you set your own & you set that focus & purpose.

What’s your greatest achievement?
B: Professionally, my greatest achievement is my brand, An Organised Life. Growing it year after year & having the strength & courage to move through the highs & the lows.

When did you decide to start your own business?
B: I started my business when I was 23 & had just moved to Sydney. I worked in the fashion industry & my job was extremely fast-paced. I always relied on a diary to manage my workload, goals, schedule & more. When I moved to Sydney, I couldn’t find a diary that was functional yet had an element of style to compliment my monochrome & minimalistic aesthetic. I realised there was a gap in the market and this was when An Organised Life was born.

What do you find to be the most rewarding part about owning your own business?
B: I have so many pinch-me moments as a business owner. I’m constantly so proud of my team & watching them grow within the brand, & my favourite feeling will always be seeing or speaking to someone who owns one of my products & hearing that it helped organise, inspire or motivate them.
