No Place Like Home | Conversations with Mi Piaci Women

Interviews - February 20

What does home mean to you?

The foundation of our story for autumn, home can be interpreted in a vast spectrum of ways; from a familiar touch, a fond memory, or nostalgic sentiment. A treasured haven, home grants us freedom and fosters a treasured sense of security and comfort - a reprieve from the chaos of life and burden of expectation. We spoke to the 6 inspiring Mi Piaci women behind our distinctly local campaign shot in Taupaki, New Zealand, about what home means to them.

"Home for me is being back in Germany during winter and walking through the Christmas markets. The lights and the music and the sense of community is what makes me feel at home."

"I travel a fair bit for work so home to me would be coming home to my sheets, my linen and my beautiful husband."

lead designer + brand aesthetics lead

"Home is when you surround yourself with loved ones. Home is being a mother; a morning cuddle with my son. Ultimately I think home is finding peace within yourself, embracing all your are, flaws, scars and imperfections and loving the experiences that have made you the person you are today."

"I feel the most at home when I’m out of the city, up in the Bay of Islands where I grew up. Surrounded by my friends and family, heading out to the beach, spending the entire day by the ocean and watching the sun go down."

owner of location + horses

"Home to me is trees, grass, big skies, space and serenity... the comforts of a house, a cosy bed and of course, horses."

creative lead

"Most of my family lives on the other side of the world, so home to me is going back to the house I grew up in, to my mum’s cooking and the local farmer's markets with my grandma. I guess for me, home is just a feeling of being at peace and content with who you are and where you are."
